    An ambiguous and widely missunderstood grouping of FIVE words, or four if you miss off THE’

    I think the phrase “A Poem including History” works as a helpful pointer. Finnegans Wake and the Cantos’

    Are each “The Tale of the Tribe” in their respective ways. “Illuminatus! Trilogy” too!

    These 3 texts when considered together may constitute a triangular structure, from which RAW’s TOTT SHINE most

    Brightly?

    Also the book by Michael Berstein [1980] “The Tale of the Tribe: The Modern verse epic of Ezra Pound.”

    Steers us once more toward uncle [EZ] who with [JJ] become the two primary exhibitors of

    RAW’s TOTT. [which i figure is NOT his final published book “email to the Universe”, but something much bigger

    woven and threaded throughout his books, and sombunall of his literary influences, an invisible landscape. ]

    So what i refer to as [RAW’s TOTT], as opposed to anybody else’s idea or conception/perception

    of the TOTT remains something we have yet to define. But he left us many clues. [rising drums and Cello’s]

    Maybe it requires a total revision of RAW’s entire catalogue

    To move closer to lifting this great ball of TOTT crystal IMHO.

    I have started doing this new work, condensing the nodle clusters

    From RAW’s work’s [the names of the characters to begin with]

    And started arranging them in different ways. [having searchable source’s has greatly inspired this posting]

    I feel that i have stepped over/through some boundaries in some sense,

    By cutting bits from RAW’s writing and sticking them together. [byte-ing RAW]

    But, with the strictest supervision, and with a community who can FEEDBACK

    with each other while doing so, we can basically continue RAW’s work,

    And study his structure, technique and methods?

    In some sense this new work of mine is nothing more than a collection of Robert Anton Wilson quotes.

    But unlike any other collection of RAW quotations,

    This one focuses on RAW’s Tale of the Tribe, the historical characters,

    who “make it new”.

    I hope the MLA, TRIBE, and everybody else can join this great

    Work in conception/perception.

    But for me this is just the beginning, the bare bones, an historical

    Kind of invetigation. [phase I]

    Make the words NEW.

  • Acrillic/Agaric/DJ Fly? Who’s the mother-blogger here?

    What is Acrillic all about? What is this mother-blogger oll about?

    Acrillic is a contraction of Acrillic Figa which is almost an anagram of Fly Agaric (adding an extra letter “I” and a letter “C”). Fly Agaric is one of the names given to the world famous red and white spotted mushroom (Amanita Muscaria) and roughly translates as Fly Killer. I “fly acrillic” hijacked the name “Fly Agaric” to be my DJ avatar around 1995 E.V and i invented the name acrillic around 2001 E.V to be my pen-hand avatar. But i often publish written material as Fly Agaric (usually when accompanied with music) and have used corruption’s of both these names upon many internet message boards.

    The exact date when “The Number 23” joined forces with Fly Agaric to make “Fly Agaric 23” remains a mystery to me, but im guessing somewhere around 1995-6. I decided to use this number too since my birthday digits: 15/04/76, and my full year of birth digits: 1976, both equal 23; using my simple additional math logic. You can add each individual number together and see for yourselfif you like. In 2006 E.V i became aware of other individuals and groups of people who had also “Hijacked” Fly Agaric’ the word-label of (The organic Toadstool itself) to be their production brand name or band name, whatever…and both the noun and adjective “FLY” is a very popular word-meme virus used in marketing these days.

    By creating the avatar identities Fly Agaric 23 and Acrillic i have found help distinguishing myself, Steven Pratt, from the other people and electronic identities who also happen to use a certain species of mushroom for their avatar name. A myspace search will turn up many fly agaric cabals and so the 23 suffix’ has helped identify myself, i suffice to say, synergetically in this big brand name WEBNET soup. On with the games.

    Cult of the yellow Sign appears 23 times in Illuminatus Trilogy!

    “He began with the Marsh disappearance in Arkham four years earlier, his perusal of the missing professor’s notes, his reading in the books mentioned in those notes and his conclusion that a drug cult was involved.” –Illuminatus!

    Of all the rich characters in Illuminatus i have discovered “Mama Sutra” seems the most attractive for three main reasons:

    1. She gives a complete encyclopedic version of the history of a version of the history of the ‘Illuminati”

    2. She seems to be steeped in psychedelic history and scientific knowledge of drugs and their influence on mankind. Especially the Golden Apple. (She is also Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea in costume behind the curtain, but within the texts of Illuminatus! she has become for me an attractive gloss, and one of many, equally valid and important and real and unreal, but Mama Sutra has a little extra something fly agaric is drawn toword.)

    3. I played turntables LIVE with a band called “Mama Sutra” from California on a number of occasions. I’m not joking. This synchronicity of meeting and jamming with “Mama Sutra” (Who when asked about the name by me seemed to be totally unaware of their mysterious namesake from “Illuminatus!”), has confirmed temporarily – while i continue this investigation, that i should investigate this character more closely, with a fine tongue-comb, like any aspiring detective ventriloquist would investigate synchronicity when it strikes like that when your following your instinct and gathering what you can from coinn-see-dance.

    In the spirit of Bob’s great interneting compendium of Conspiracy throughout the ages: “Everything is Under Control,” i’ll accent certain terms and theories which i feel appropriate for the context of these flypothesis’. Illuminatus Trilogy IT, achieves a high density information content by an unusually large external reference database, comparatively for a Novel, that when compiled electronically on Web 2.0can create an impressive encyclopedia of world history. More recent data and better information to base predictions upon. Not an alternative but several, hundred! History, War, literature, Occultism, Philosophy, Religion, Psychology, MagiK, individualist anarchism, Poetry, Jokes on dupes and those who take writing too seriously, are all woven into the encyclopedic and epic Novel, as Dr. Timothy Leary referred to it.


    The main sequence under investigation by fly agaric 23 is from “THE EIGHTH TRIP, OR HOD (TELEMACHUS SNEEZED)” providing a microcosm of these “Illuminati” themes in a cheeky, Hagbardian’ authoritative narrative, an alternative History of the world delivered as mythic fairy tale or legend concerning an international drug-cult and a mysterious “nameless” entity called the Illigor, which paradoxically also seem to have Karmic attributes of a typically Taoist Buddhist God, or non-god.

    “The Cult itself, like the lloigor, is of pre-human origin. It began among the snake people of Valusia, the peninsula that is now Europe, and then spread eastward to be adopted by the first humans in Carcosa. Always the purpose of the Cult has been to serve the lloigor, at the expense of other human beings. Since the rise of the Illuminati, the Cult has also acted to combat their work and discredit them.” – Illuminatus, page 302.


    “fly agaric” is mentioned by name only once in the text of “Illuminatus!”, referenced by “Mama Sutra,” but possibly described in various other ways though, substituted with fruit, other drugs, apples and maybe the Illigor themselves? “Amanita Muscaria” however appears 6 times in a text so something worth looking into, a HIT! you could say. This may all seem wishful thinking from Fly Agaric 23, the name/word i hijacked into my creative avatar world commonly used as a word/name for a particular species of mushroom/toadstool now has a definite affinity with the book, along with 10’000 other things, but its there, and workable if we wish to investigate thoroughly thoroughly through the rubble of confrontation magazine offices methodically as scholars would, diving for pearls and anyhting shinning. Plus myself diving for notes from the ship that sunk in my head. The “Mama Sutra” synchronicity in the non-book world is such a pearl for me, so i wish to polish it, reflect myself in it. And then give it everybody. The Movie “The Number 23” covers some of this territory but without the shinning pearls and scholarly weight for me, as this book-word-magic stuff was happening to me too in the late 1990’s, before i had fully read “Illuminatus! trilogy!” or heard ever of a band called “Mama Sutra”. Yet, i must admit that due to an ever increasing curiosity and due to the strange adventures i have had on the road that taking on the cloaking of Fly Agaric 23 was directly related to Wilson‘s book of footnotes to ‘Illuminatus! Trilogy”: Cosmic Trigger, and the recurring and haunting fact that Amanita Muscaria appears in the index of Cosmic Trigger as the 24th entry of the index and first references page 42. Fly Agaric appears there in a reference attributed to Robert Graves classic and essential text “The White Goddess” in the context of describing a “Mushroom Cult of the Goddess”. And another 10’000 things. This bit of research on my behalf shows a simple link between Cosmic Trigger and Illuminatus Trilogy! that indicates how interrelated RAW’s works are, and so the world of his works. They reflect off so many heretic philosophies and furtive ideas.

    “I suspect that Baal Zabul was an autumnal Dionysus, whose devotees intoxicated themselves on amanita muscaria, which still grows there; the Biblical name for these toadstools being either ‘ermrods’ or ‘little foxes’. By the time of jesus, who was accused of traffic with Beelzebub, the Kingdoms of Israel and Philistia had long been suppressed and the shrines of Ekron and Tabor destroyed; and Baal-Zebul’s functions having been taken over by the archangel Gabriel, he had declined to a mere devil mockingly called Baal-Zebub, ‘Lord of Flies’.” – Robert Graves, The White Goddess P. 440

    Graves‘ book is a good helpful book, providing some guidance when looking into some of the religious historical elements traced within Illuminatus! Hastur, the Illigor and the Cult of the Yellow sign all share attributes entities from“The White Goddess” indeed Mama Sutra has the attributes of the White Goddess in many respects, despite of course her been of asiatic origins and so dark skinned, she tells a mothers tale. Terence Mckenna, Christian Ratsch, Ralph Meztger and others have compiled very concise and convincing bodies of first hand experiential evidence that the ancient Mushroom cults were ‘Goddess” cults gernerally that worshipped mostly feminine type deities and always engaged in full community, full communication and often direct P2P dialogue with nature’s mind through the medium of the tele-communicating, interactive mushroom complex. Or the spirit contacted by way of the Lovecrafted “Illigor” .The Mushroom complex functions a bit like the golden apples in the Greek myths function. A chaotic attracter. They provide a possible hidden variable for the story, something that is powerful, sacred, magical, beautiful. Allatonce.

    “I believe that Soma was a mushroom, Amanita muscaria (Fries ex L.) Quel, the fly-agaric, the Fliegenpilz of the Germans, the fausse oronge or tue-mouche or crapaudin of the French, the mukhomor of the Russians – R. Gordon Wasson.

    Thankfully we have a narrative to contain these questions and to help explicate in a playful and poetic way. You might say the “Illuminati” are very much a drug production and distribution cult, but totally transforming itself from circuit’s 4 and upwards into the 8-Dimensional circuit model of consciousness (Of Leary and Wilson’s devices), using Marijuana, Peyote, Psilocybn, Hash and some of the various properties of Amanita Muscaria into a gangster mob mentality of a Circuit 1-3 “Illuminati” that deals Heroin around the world. Guns and Killingry too, such is the thick headed and Ape like actions. See the brilliant “Brief History of Drugs by Antonio Eschatado.This transformation of the “Illuminati” parallels the history of the decline of “Goddess” cults in the west, slowly making way for more patriarchal cults and our more modern patriotic male “Illuminati” groups, who you might say stole magical knowledge from the older “Goddess” cults and religions and used it in a greedy fashion to enslave humanity into their world. The decline of the use of psilocybn among peoples may also be a contributing factor in the rise of agriculture and the beginnings of religion and language.


    One of the things i can recall that came out of the course with me was the concept that their are many different “Illuminati” and many different “Illuminati” histories, good/bad. Angels and Cowboys. All of which seem more plausible to me in many respects. And give spave for change. Differing in historical acceptance only by the number of publications and authors who have echoed them in published works and the availability of these texts. Illuminati can literally mean those whom have particular access to unique “Illuminating” manuscripts which has an attractive hermeneutic ring to it, and could also i would argue include a particular “method” of reading, to illuminate and cast light on a text in a unique and Occult way. Modern Illuminati histories are often concerned with esoteric texts and rare manuscripts and once again we can see a brilliant parody on this by Shea and Wilson throughout the post-modem’ holo-novel.

    Panspermia theory pioneered by Francis Crick, extended by Dr, Leary and Philip K. Dick (Crick and Dick!) proposes an extraterrestrial origin of DNA RNA that would provide a possible vehicle for the Illigor from Illuminatus! Trilogy to invade earth. This also reflects bits of what you might call the Vril conspiracy networks that run through Occult circles and Intelligence Agency locker rooms. The naturalistic philosophy of Bruno and Neitzche reflects the rational approach to the question of the Illigor (The Tao) and their relationships with mankind and with nature. Together as one whole interacting system. Dr. Marsh – Van Daniken, Velikovsky, John Allegro, Atlantis and the lost gods are all of interest to fly agaric technologies and GUCT.

    “Not only were Marsh’s theories now beyond all scientific credibility, but his methods— such as quoting Allegro’s The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross or Graves’ The White Goddess as if they were as reputable as Boas, Mead, or Frazer— seemed to indicate senility. This impression was increased by the eccentric dedication “To Ezra Pound, Jacques De Molay and Emperor Norton I.” The real scientific scandal was not the theory of Atlantis (that was a bee that had haunted many a scholarly bonnet) but Marsh’s claim that the gods of Atlantis actually existed; not as supernatural beings, of course, but as a superior class of life, now extinct, which had preexisted mankind and duped the earliest civilization into worshiping them as divine and offering terrible sacrifices at their altars. – Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson, Illuminatus, Page 181.

        The late great Hugh kenner (1932-2003) in his book “Joyce’s Voice’s” creates something he calls The Uncle Charles Principle, so called in honor of the “naming” pipe smoking, uncle who sat on his arbor or “shitter’”, in James Joyce’s early master work “A Portrait of the Artist As A Young Man”:

    ‘Every morning, therefore, Uncle Charles repaired  to his outhouse, but not before he had greased and brushed scrupulously his back hair and brushed and put on his tall hat.” –James Joyce, Portrait  of the Artist.

              In Robert Anton Wilson’s book Coincidance, described by some as a kind of readers guide to James Joyce, Bob describes and exhibits the “Uncle Charles Principle” in many ways although the three words: “Uncle Charles Principle” are suspiciously absent from Bobs writing. Wilson’s gives off an aura of the “UCP” with his  vivid reflections and methods for teaching along theories synthesized from such great minds as David Bohm, Alfred Korzybski, Giordano Bruno, Timothy Leary and many other of the goodvibe Illuminati, ‘those who incorporated some version on the hologramic principle in their individual and particular system, scaffolded into RAW’s fantastically condensed essays.     I have been channeling the inner sap of the fly agaric mushroom for over ten years now, taking her everywhere with me, perched on my shoulder like a parrot she has become an integral part of my thinking writing and general creativity. A Destroying Guardian Angel, shamanic ally, or just a sham? fly agaric has influenced many parts of my life, e-mail addresses, pen names, DJ avatar’s and on. The deeper i look into fly agaric the more she throws up interesting information at me. Everytime i try to walk away she just pulls me back in again.

    So, a few years back i finally flew, i flew all the way from my home and visited the New Age worlds of America in beautiful California and found myself wrapped up in Finnegans Wake and Illuminatus! Trilogy and other wild and fantastical Psychedelic counter-cultural activities. Bands, Movies, War protests and lots of love and great weed. Living in a book is probably the best metaphor for it but without full control of the narrative. But thats a bedraggled idea in 2007, living in a book, especially after that movie “The Number 23”.®

    I originally figured back in the mid 1990’s that by creating an avatar (fly agaric 23) and alternative (acrillic) devices for changing perception, i was developing a method by which to experience things simultaneously, together as more than one “I” labelled Steven. Readings of “In search of the Miraculous” by P.D Ouspensky combined with “Cosmic Trigger” by Robert Anton Wilson and “Design for Dying” byDr. Timothy Leary gave me the confidence to experiment comfortably with changing the parameters of my consciousness and also having the will to write it down and translate it for recording purposes. To play. Which led to me slowly taking it more seriously, the jokes i mean…

    The fabled mushroom Amanita Muscaria or the fly agaric has been widely considered as a resurrective elixir in many cultures across the globe from China to Ireland and in ancient times, 30’000 years ago and up into so called modern times. Even Post-Modem times. Today with the abundance of telecommunications and the new language tools with which to conduct independent research into such matters, like Marijuana and also global internet (Google, Wikipedia, Amazon) with which we can now provide a more encyclopedic representation of ourselves based on faster broader feedback mechanisms. Previously occulted papyrus such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, Finnegans Wake, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, Illuminatus, The Egyptian Book of the Dead and the Cantos of Ezra Pound can be processed in a completely new way now. The ability to conduct research quickly and without having to be geographically localized to the original texts, among other advances has moved humanity and culture closer together i think, psychologically and spiritually. Only the scaffolding of the words remain around us today, the language dependent media viruses that propogate and project reality are broken down. We have a new model for free, playful individuals to get connected together in a global community – a stateless socialism, a new world based on peaceful communication. Read on.

     Food Fight.

              The elliptical Ravioli hit Bob’s Funny Bone with a phlump. Bob‘ was already laughing like a blunted Buddha, while blinded by the blue cheese, mushrooms, pumpkin, artichoke and Tomato sauce glossing his facial features and beard like chunks of JFK’s noggin’ when Hugh Montague probably gave the go ahead  to the Dealy  Lama.

              Bob’s Hand pushed down on snake shaped latch firing the Lasagna cannon.  Droplets of the rusty red tomato sauce spraying Bob’s beard again, as the lasagna levitated skyward. Kurt is at the other end of the kitchen peeping through his extraordinarily decorated periscope next to the cooker.

    “Lasagna” cheers  Bob, rejoycing.

     “Ravioli” Kurt replies with a roar, firing his ravioli catapult while thinking how Bob’s face looked like some kind of wombat  that had been feeding on red fruit, covered in all that Ravioli and sauce.

     “Lasagna!”

     “Keep the Lasagna levitating.” sings Bob to the tune of Auld Lang Syne and licking his red lips with glee like a cat licking cream off his long whiskers.

     “Keep the Ravioli in Orbit. So it goes and goes.” Kurt echoed with a passionate and equal sincerity.

     

              Leaning in through the Kitchen window, looking over Bob’s shoulder, Norman hands Bob a Mouth Organ with a note attached that reads:

    ‘Lasagna’ derived from the Greek.

      ‘Lasanon’ meaning ‘chamber pot’

    ‘Ravioli’ from Italian verb ‘Ravvolgere’ meaning ‘to wrap’

        ‘Lasagne al forno’ – oven-cooked Lasagne. –Norman

              Kurt notices Norman’s multi colored T-shirt that reads: “Auld Lasagna!…established by Francisco di Marco of Prato: 1408 e.v.

    “Oh, to be outside this kitchen with Norman! Spinach and minced meat in myface and these Lasagna projectiles are hot as hell.” Kurt bawled, wiping Bob’s sauce from his lovley big droopy eyes.

     “Loseyns’ Trajectories Modified, Commence launch. RAW Lasagna!” Bob said, with a nasal accent satirizing some strange mission control centre.

            Kurt watches Bob entertaining himself, covered in cheese n’ spinach, Tomato and pasta flakes, laughing in the slime, playful like a free infant.

     “Chinese ravioli and tortellini collectively, are often referred to as Italian jiaozi, according to uncle EZ.“  Bob said, with bad Santa’s smile.

     

    “A Sufi that i once met called ravioli manti, Chogyam Trungpa refers to them as Momo, Ginsberg told me about the Jewish Kreplach, and Schroedinger called em Maultaschen.” Bob added. Kurt and Norman both watching the Ravioli sauce dripping off his chin like luminescent volcanic lavafalls.

              Bob moves his fingers from the catapult latch and quickly wipes the cosmic ragu debris from his chin and beard again as if psychically responding to Kurt’s observation. Kurt looked like he’d seen ghost and Bob looked like a cross between a Chinese Mystic and an auld Irish Bard from Siriusauce.

    Each pioneered a new method with which to present to the rest of the world what they had learnt – “Epiphany” and “Ideogramic method” respectively. Often, and more especially with Ezra Pound they presented encyclopedic information without personal commentary, quoting and using an impersonal sampledelia of worldwoid historical artifacts. Or records. They were both denounced at various times in their lives as Mcloonatics for their genius and gift. Charles Dodgson once accused Joyce of turning his back on the common man after he read Finnegans Wake; i think mebbe this was a kind of sick joke. But in 1939 when the book came out, maybe Joyce wanted to communicate some kind of turning, revolution without killingry.

    Uncle Ez experienced twoeeks in the human-bird cage while under U.S custody charged with high Treason for his famous, radical M.C’ing and Disc Calendar jockeying, while in Pisa, Italy during WWII. When he finally returned to America the scholar poet spent thirteen years in St. Elizabeths Hospital for the mentally unfit; ironically situated in Washington D.C, today a global hotspot for the mentally ill and wholly dogmatic nut job cranky leaders of the know “free” world.

    Pound called many of his villains “usurers” to denote their tendency to take a particular form of natural abundance, naturally naturally abundant in nature, and then slowly trickle this natural abundance through a corporate capitalist controlled channel the size of an average ass hole, to the rest of humanity. (99.8%) with extra added taxes, tariffs and further unholy blockages of a naturally regenerative system, ironically in the name of profit, business and “fair”trade.

    Joyce has a powerpun’t stereo effect that spins like a spiders web and knots like a vine certain propositional functions into a breathing constellation of seemingly contradicting processes, a perpetual “paradox”; throughout Finnegans Wake. A semantic vortex full of semtex. Like a poetic transcript of Joyce flicking TV channels or surfing old 30’s internet TV-web sites, seemingly on a whim with a dance and a cheer. When combined with the intelligent interactive processing of a reader, these revolting identities begin to awaken and piece themselves together seemingly miraculously to any observer; weaving a tapestry of mental imagist scenes surprisingly different from the usual subject-predicate formal logic executed in literature and modern new-speak to such devastating effect. These hierarchical and multi-valued teachings are a part of what we call maybelogic. Propositions like: “Enel-Rah” is the “Nine gods of egypt”, or “Kong Gander O’Toole” is “Kung Fu Hsei” seem to become more surreal and illogical than the use of the culpa (is), in simple everyday speech.

    This kind of is’ing thinking categorically thrusts the reader/thinker into a character identity crisis; inevitably forcing us into more flexible, non-aristotelian perceptions upon which we can crystalize relative constellations of multiple attributes, resonances and characteristics. Plurabelle. With aristotelian bricks in your breeches you may take a heavy fall. With relative maybelogic models and metaphors the bricks will transform into smaller atoms and then flowers or maybe bright mushrooms, and you will find yourself swimming back into the authors videotext; grasping at new semanticklish maps and punny gridlooks and various keys. Very Helpful items when out on the ocean surfing Finnegans Wake among the hungry great white Fnords.

    Pound developed an equally perplexing and strange new bird (new Eagle) called ‘ideogramic method’ – influenced by the chinese written character and the Oriental ideographic Zen/Buddhist/Taosit/Confucian lineage of poetry-painting. What became “ideogramic method” seems perplexing and strange to the western alphabetic culture critics who were receiving these strange new picture-poems or, axis pivots, without adequate tools for 21st Century thinking. Condensed mini dynastic dramas and fountains of seasoned prose, picking up signals from the emerging global village; our present. Alphabetical symbol systems, pictographic symbol systems, heraldic symbol systems, musical symbol systems; mixed together with meter into an epic poem, a long epic poem for a new era, a new phase, a new calendar P.s.U and a new seal for humanity. “Revolution… in the minds of the people”.

    Finnegans Wake and The Cantos together seem a kind of literal apocalypse, the end of the word as we know it. The end of the woid as we don’t know it, and the buginning of the eternity of plurality, the “Now” it, the interacting process world of the future. We seem to be entering a knu era where the kind of quantum jumping in literature synonymous with James Joyce, Ezra Pound, William S. Burroughs, Robert Anton Wilson is emerging in more wide spread cultural and social-linguistic phenomena, propelled by internet and social knittworking. This quantum jumping phenomena appears as indistinguishable from magic, prophesy and time-space travel to me. Its just a matter of the terminology used to describe the coex experience.

    Fortunately for the Maybelogic Academy and its members we had a master scholar in the works of James Joyce and Ezra Pound to help guide us through the challenging artists individual reality labyrinths, their most complex works and ideas, models, grids. Their con.texts for describing “what the hell is going on?“. Robert Anton Wilson provided the vital bridge between Finnegans Wake and The Cantos by assigning specific chapters from his 1991 book – Coincidance; providing us with multiple Skeleton Key’s, keys, corpses and texts to hang our own personal and individual world views upon, and watch grow. I highly recommend all three of these texts for every 21st century citizen as a global travel guide and introduction to the New Word order. Dr. Wilson’s 1959 Essay Joyce and Tao, seems an excellent resource for students more interested in his own fascinating relationship, stemming more than half a century with arguably the entire 20th century’s greatest writer: James Joyce.

    My own personal experience with Finnegans Wake and maybelogic has led me to construct my own personal grid, or method, for representing what i have learnt from my teachers, in hope of contributing to a wider awareness of awareness: GUCT.

    Concrete facts demonstrable in nature propose a healthy fishing pond to begin fly-fishing for fat facts. I soon discovered that the after effects upon common house flies having acrilick’d the red-golden white-cream speckled toadstool species: Amanita Muscaria, in common forests provided a perfectly harmonious semantic “grid” for me to present my imaginative ripples and thought patterns. Zillions of critters get high, fall down, sleep and wake up into nature and this process of inebriation is scientifically demonstrable as a chemical processes in the nervous systems of most higher animals. Evolution through inebriation implies chemical compounds found naturally abundant in nature. And there are thousands of different ones.

    Amanita Caps are found abundantly today in nature and have just the right chemical mixture to bring about such vivid weird highs, sleeps and wakes. Lewis Carroll incorporated these chemical reactions into “Alice through the looking glass”, as a space-time morphing device, a literary effect, and included the actual toadstool too. In fact the awakening, uprising, resurrection, coming again, commodious vicus of recirculation, ascension and perpetual “birthing” of epiphanies… nicely represents the “spirit” of Finnegans Wake as i perceive it. I like to think that James Joyce knew of amrta very well, a guinness from nature. Magical resurrections are reflected in the process about which the Book lends its title: “Finnegans Wake” – an irish Ballad in which a fallen Irish-man Tim Finnegan is presumed dead but then miraculously springs back to life at his own wake, spirited up out of his coffin by some wayward spilt elixir from some feisty festive mourners.

    Reading aloud in a group, in a field, in a cave or coffee shop will provide wonderful musical acoustic elements to these books and unlock tongues tied down since first birth. Reading aloud the Wake, especially the Wake can literally grab you, and sing to you, whisking you off to some other place.
