20 Billion Seedlings And Climate Healing
I estimate, that IF…1% of every nation on earth would plant less than 1% of the world record for seeds planted in one day, we could regreen the planet and turn climate change around, towards climate healing. In 2001, Ken Chaplin planted 15,170 red pine seedlings in one day, the world record.
In 2016, India claimed that volunteers planted 49 million saplings in just one day. If every one of the 17.5 million UK Brexit voters planted 10 trees each in 2019 we’d have 175 million across Britain. Possibly new forests, edible gardens, food, medicine and recreational resources.
