    “we’ll just have to wait and see”, does not cut it for me, when asking the 64 trillion dollar question, how much is bluff, how much of what he says does he mean? And furthermore, of what he is actually referring to, most probably far far away from what he thinks he means. What is talk and what will be action? 

    One approach is to formulate an O-meter, some kind of spectrum or some parameters by which to measure. For example, one side is based on everything he says is bluff and bluster, the other that he not only means what he says but that there exists the logistics, funding and manpower to execute his orders immediately. Depending how much of a Trump fan you are, may skewer your reading of where on this Trump Bluff-O-Meter you are, for any particular policy or “words and phrases he uses that might refer to a particular, enforceable policy”. 

    Many, myself included, generally conclude that Trump is full of manure, lies and deceit, be that as it may, it does not help us here and now. We wish to get an accurate prediction, or more accurate prediction of what he’s going to do, and what he’s going to say he’ll do, but probably not. Put a US flag in Mars soil. Dictate matters of science and genetics. Defeat all his perceived enemies. End corruption in congress and senate. With these theologically paralysed grunts, Trump is always saying nothing, talking loud, saying nothing. But we can’t look away, it’s his followers, devotees and supporters we must be vigilant of, and practice a mutual tolerance of. No violence. No hate. Say no to racism. Union strong. See something, say something.

    Having just watched the swearing in of the 47th President, Donald J. Trump, I’ve got to take a breath and contemplate what to say. Firstly, that Martin Luther King was invoked several times struck me. January 20th is MLK day, which will for me, forever overshadow the day Trump got reelected. Read MLK, watch a documentary about his life, focus on that.

    Skipping all the ad hominem about tans, let me first point out that if god is dead then Trump and the USA are powerless against compute, or, the superintelligence that will obsolete whatever is left of a human being still clinging to their falsehoods. 

    The probably dead god was mentioned dozens of times, when meaninglessness was required and an already unsurprising sentence, was in need of further obfuscation and confusion. As with talking about the American dream as if it’s some kind of material thing to grow in proportion. 

    It should come of no surprise, especially after hearing the pastor before him, that Trump gets his signature word salad from his monotheistic roots in evangelical christianity. His hallucinations and simply, illogical sentences, are always caged by the trappings of religious absolutism. I’m gonna’ do this, and we’re gonna ‘ do that, adds to the confusion, the listener or transcript reader left wondering what he really means, and what is he really gonna’ do. 

    If you were to ask how, or for a probabilistic based plan not based on absolute certainty, you’d be shut down. This dictatorial mode of leadership has up and downsides. Yes stuff gets done, but often resentfully, which sews seeds of revolt, sabotage and infighting conspiracy and breakdown of trust. This spiral into paranoia and secrecy prevents the actual implication of their plans, or full implementation of them, like a fascist bureaucracy clogging up the wheels of far right fascism. That’s my hope, or one of them.

    At one point when Trump was in full swing on his anti immigrant, anti trans rant, I thought to myself: stand up, say something, if you see something say something. Somebody “boo” or at least walk out in protest, throw a shoe, if only at Bush! That everybody stayed until the end without any protest, and clapped his disgusting theocratic fascist fantasy, makes me sad, but highlights the difference between self-owning activist poets and congress critters, M.P’s worldwide. They don’t speak for us. Our artists, musicians, scientists and great speakers…speak for us. From now on you can keep you politicians and your god. I’ll be over here with the godless trans luxury space communists. 

    Trump is what a consumer culture of paranoid people demand, a big daddy to protect and fight and hurl abuse for them, so they don’t have to, they can just go about life without confronting racism, sexism, bullying, violent abuse, poverty, war, famine. Only with that protection of the filthy state, can the merry wheels go around and around for the privileged few who can’t bare to know how they’re life style and tacit complicity in they’re representative governments dealings at home and abroad. 

    Populism convinces poor people to hate the poor and love the rich, using immigration and wedge issues like gender rights and horrors such as child sex abuse and grooming gangs to lure those totally fed up with the other political forces, into their labyrinth of hate, blame and knuckle dragging nativism. Trump is the fat boss of the new global populist right theocracy, coming to a town near you. Try to forget how they look and how they provoke with predictable nativist tropes, yet, address the lies and over amplified statistics, and cherry picked doom scroller memes they peddle. Ignore Reform and Conservative right wing populism in the UK at your peril, stay silent and eventually they’ll come for you, as the paranoid proverb goes. 

    So what is to be done? Well, I ain’t no political scientist, but the next four years of Trump, that’s if he don’t get shot or have a massive heart attack or brain bleed injury of some kind, or get cancer, or killed by a new virus, will be these same few confused ideas in a slightly different order. Trump is rudderless, with a dead God as his guide he’s walking off a cliff edge, good, yet I wish his followers the strength to question their allegiance to a divinely guided tsar, and not follow him off that cliff into the abyss of hate, narcissism, lies and theocratic dogma. 

    I wish you resilience, keen focus, strength and stamina as we continue to defend the art, reality, truth and a well thought out joke, from the liars, hacks and deluded billionaires who claim to control us, yet, in actuallity are nothing but wounded powerless grifters, sucked off into the messiah matrix of the male dominatrix. 

    Good luck with constructing your own Bluff-O-Meter, and remember to not only take your own bluff readings, but try to consider those of others too, those others who may have a better informed view. We must all learn from this, adapt, evolve, get smarter, help others, play nice.

    My first dive into UK politics (besides protesting the closure of some local swimming pools) was on my return to Stourbridge, after 5 years living in America. I was drawn to the river Stour, which the town lends its name. On my first trips down the Stour in October 2005 I noticed some nasty looking rusty-coloured liquid coming out of a small but significant pipe, plus various foam formations where the river picked up pace. This is all besides the bicycles, car tires, and shopping trolleys, littering the river. Perhaps I was more sensitive to this, as I’d just been swimming in the feather river, Lake Tahoe, Pyramid lake, and dozens of other waters while in America. All crystal clear, inviting and beautiful.

    The river stour is beautiful, don’t get me wrong, it just depends on the distance you are from it when making such an observation. You really have to get in there to know what’s going on. Analyze the water, run tests and perhaps try a small glass, see what happens. I’m kidding, do not drink a glass of Stour water, it’s mucky and you’ll be on the bog for a wik.

    So here I was, back in town, after a remarkable American adventure. And I’m full of the spirit of protest and confidence, what can I do? I didn’t have a job, had just rented a room, and was at a loose end. I decided to begin a campaign to clean up the river Stour. I took a crappy video camera and got some footage of the river, together with some shots of Stourbridge, and edited it together with a tune I’d made using Reason software. (see blurred video below)

    I made several phone calls to Severn Trent Water Authority, the Environment Agency and the local rivers and canals organizations, trying to find out who I need to talk to about the probable pollutants running into it, and the litter strewn through the relatively small section of river leading from Lye to Stourbridge (approx 2-3 miles of river).

    Remember that in 2005 it was still a Blair Labour government, whom I was generally speaking, furious and angry at, for dragging us into the so called “War On Terror” with George Bush Jnr. However, in a moment of clarity, I decided to reach out to the local MP for Stourbridge, at that time, Linda Walthrow. I arranged a meeting and turned up at the church in Wollaston to put myself out there. I was unemployed at the time, claiming housing benefits and living rather frugally to say the least.       

    I asked the MP to supply me with some equipment, waders and a hook, so I could become the official custodian of the river…if…I was to clean it up. I also turned her onto a white paper by a media theorist, writer, Douglas Rushkoff, the paper was titled Open Source Democracy.

    I can’t help but wonder how different things would be if she would have read and understood and shared this document with all of her Labour party, at that point. The coming Digital Revolution, seemed to me to have been highly weaponized by the Conservatives and the right, taking the left off guard and leading to the 14 years of monstrosities and abominations in the UK. Partly, made possible by the digital media landscape and print media landscape domination. Russian interference? I digress.

    I never got my waders of a hook, or a response by email. So I went ahead and started some projects anyway, some of which are documented in film and photographs. This project, started from the river Stour, has expanded and stayed with me on my subsequent travels to Europe. I don’t consider myself an environmentalist or even an activist, for me this was research into poetry and art. Where I pitch my tent. As much as I see the benefits and I admire professional card carry environmentalists, I did not wish to join any political party or movement. I wanted people to see me doing this for another reason, my own selfish reasons.



    My campaign was a success, in as far as I got a print media story, and photograph in the local Newspaper, where I was misquoted but pretty fairly represented as saying words to the effect that, if the government isn’t going to do it, then I’ll do it, look. Trying to draw attention to the issue. Look at the state of the river the town is named after, littered literally with shopping trolleys. What better metaphor for our consumer technology boom of the mid to late noughties? Who cares about the river, fill that trolly up!

    Jump forward nearly 20 years, and Britain’s rivers, waterways, lakes, seas and canals have been repeatedly, perhaps purposefully, polluted with waste sewage water. Meanwhile the major UK Water companies have been enjoying a financial bonanza, profiting from mismanagement, deregulation and the aroma of unaccountability. But no longer. This is coming to a dam. And we have a new chance to re-green and re-clean our waterways, with a different UK government. Once again, we pick up from where we left off, be the change. Turn the tide.


    Feargal Sharkey has become the face and voice of the campaigns to save UK rivers, and lakes, and the sea, and hold those responsible for their decline, to account. I wish him every success, together with George Monbiot and everybody else pushing the good vibes.

    The un-expansion of environments and free-spaces for human beings to smoke (ANYTHING) has been rapidly expanding in its constrictive powers over the last 3 years. On a global scale, a new mushroom cloud or umbrella of zero-tollerance has formed–like the terrifying image of maybe 40 thermo-nuclear war-heads exploding over all over these territories and spaces, they are blanketed with the FOG of law in this sense if viewed from outer-space. The BUTT of the joke about any kind of smoking ban clings to the THC in the toke. You’d have to be stoned to put up with this insult to human intelligence and sensibility. Laughing Crying Screaming LCS!

    Interestingly every smoking ban does NOT cover non-human entities such as motor vehicles, turbine engines, Nuclear power stations, factories, media-stations, smoking Bazookas et cetera. Which produce a HELL OF A LOT of smoke! Didn’t you know by now that where’s there’s SMOKE, there’s fire, and Mirrors.

    What is a smoke these days, what does this NO Smoking sign really mean in your city? A Smoke could be:

    • a. A MARIJUANA CIGGARETTE,
    • b. A hit of TOAD SLIME from a pipe.
    • c. A sauna with 3000 rashes of smoky bacon
    • d. A Blow job (as in many places to smoke pole means to suck on a Blair-pipe)
    • e. A Tabasco laced Tobacco cigarette. (Reputedly smoked by James Joyce. c.f)

    But i am causing confusion here where there should be more clarity, i suppose you must have a common faith and reasonable restraint, some common horse-sense and to have a common council and sensibility to read and believe what NO SMOKING means within the many different contexts a,b,c,d,e; et cetera; and then make such judgement and action as one would see proper and fit. But one glance at any Drug Prohibition programe shows them to be playing a similar game of confusion. But without any jokes or interesting footnotes.

    DAMNBIGUATION seems an appropriate new word to describe the problem of the Smoking Ban getting taken seriously by any thinking individual capable of catching an elevator. How can Tobacco and marijuana be both legal and illegal at the same time, as seems to now be the case, the legal case at least at the present time here in the Netherlands? What of the rest of the world?

    DAMNBIGUATION. a. Tobacco. b. Marijuana. (What is SKUNKweed?) The pop media and all the big pharma marketing and magik companies know all about DAMNBIGUATION it seems. They use ambiguity every moment of every single fresh day to keep the masses breathing exhaust fumes and paying for wars in their hall of mirrors, in the HAZE. The FOG OF The LAW. The word-corpsemanure camp. And the war on some people, and some animals, that use some pharmacological compounds, to accent the greek PHARMAKON seems the most absurd of all their absurd quasi-mystical law-spell-word magic law-spell-binding. Today for me the word PHARMAKON would be a far more informative and helpful word to use as a substitute for DRUG so as to kick that DAMNBIGUATION drug-word habit in the BUTT, right NOW! I am styling myself here a bit like the BBC Newsnight culture correspondent Stephen Smith who says, “We’ve been trying to penetrate the fog surrounding cannabis to sort a few facts from the myths.

    But, lets not ramble too far from smell of scent of the shit here. Something is very very exciting to me about the prospect that establishments around the world can unite in allowing MARIJUANA to be consumed inside their establishments as an ILLEGAL substance is not covered in any Tobacco ban or other law that prohibits consumption in public places such as cafes, bars, and restaurants. Put up a sigh that says. MARIJUANA SMOKERS AND SMOKE TOLLERATED HERE. Thankyou for POT smoking.

    The Dutch double bind here seems to me to be in the relationship between Coffee-shop Authorities and the seperate municipality Authorities. Some but not all of the Dutch Municipality authorities overlook with toleration a limited amount of establishments and a limited amount of people to bend the law a little bit to provide a little environment in which people can buy and smoke a little bit of quality MARIJUANA. In a safe environment.

    But even this tentative relation-shop between different authorities seems under threat these days, in 2008 with some but not all coffeeshops folding due to less business and more regulations and crippling laws to abide by such as. NO ADVERTISING. NO ALCHOHOL. NO TOBACCO. NO DANCING. And the list of things you can’t do inside a building in most–but not all–of Europe and America reels out in comparative length with the receipts from all the international trade in arms, sugar, oil and more terrible steel; reeling for miles and miles. When was the last time a LAW was passed that increased the individuals freedoms, or i might say when was the last time a law was abolished that gave individuals greater freedoms to live and love as they please. (Gay Marriage?).

    I SMOKED THE LAW.

    No matter how you look at it the passing of more laws creates more potential criminals, and in a shady would where everybody is a potential criminal for one reason or another, the passing of more laws just increases the possible amount of criminal psychological impressions often associated with paranoia, illness and depression. And the popular phrase’s used worldwide like “we are passing these laws to protect YOU the public, YOU the employee and YOU the human being” echo throughout the lands. LIES! The more laws they pass the more criminals they create. THEY in this context referring to TSOG (TSARIST OCCUPATION GOVERNMENT). CCTV. DNA database Church of deception.

    We the people are simply asking the question to all authority, why, why do you think you know so much and so rightly that you can mediate and moderate what we do, how we choose to live life, how we remain healthy and happy? If life, happy-ness and love are what we choose for our lives then WHY do you think that YOU know so much about MY life, OUR lives, the people. I often think that they should just leave US alone and let us get on with living. And living is what I choose, and living is what we the people choose. Let the death monsters and hate filled war mongers have their death matches, and let them have their laws all for themselves. But please, have the common human sense and dignity to let those who choose life choose for themselves how they live their life. Sharing, caring and remaining open for communication.

    I arrived back into Amsterdam today at 11:45 am. By 11:45 pm i was contemplating the proposed “smouldering ban” which according to some media outlets–took effect–today, here in the Netherlands. CNN, Channel four and other popular media gas stations had apparently, according to what people were telling me at work, included my workplace (Coffeeshop 420) in the some of the news items. CNN is a familiar gas-station to your present author and so is the BBC in an equal and opposite way. I have observed much spin and semantical distortions from these gas stations overe the past 15 years, and the “fumming ban” here in the Netherlands seems to have attracted the big media DOGS! But still, i’ll wage my bacon that most but not all major media “telecommunications GAS Stations” have a vested interest in semantical distortions, especially and most OBVIOUSLY to thinking individuals, in the puffed up category of newsmedia speak “DRUGS” the ultimate haze. A media created HYPER SKUNK. ILNNES MADNESS and Hyper-CRIMINAL. No purple. Without any Green. A grey noun in the paper print world of unimaginable darkness and squalid suffering. The NEWSPEAK word DRUG, Drugging itself and its faithful readers.

    I have found the word “DRUGS” to be maybe the most misused, abused and mistyfying catch-phrase that the major media corportaions–some, by the way who are in business link projects and stock-ties and bonds with giant pharmacological corporations–are in my opinion exhausting our human sensibility and our sanity with these meaningless, structurally inconsistent NEWSPEAKINGS. (To use one of the most common catch phrases for a deceptive and inherently snaky language).

    Dr. Robert Anton Wilson suggests the semantical update of transforming the phrase “war on drugs” used in the worlds popular mainstream news media gasphere into “The war on SOME people who use SOME drugs”. I agree with Bob that this kind of semantical approach to “drugs” at the very least might make us find a theasaurus and look up the word drugs and discover the array of meanings possibly associated with drugs. Not to mention the mostly negative impression of drugs and crime as a sprawling monster that stalks our streets like a giant squid in the fog of night! I need not go on here about more examples of semantical distortions and ill-defined gossip column style reports revolving around “The war on some people who use some drugs” its everywhere, like a black Death resurrected by Burroughs. A Word Virus int he matrix. ‘DRUGS’.

    It has to be legally defined in human language to make a law of it. DMT is an example of this kind of unknown legal status, until quite recently. How do you make something unknown illegal? make new categories?
    POT IS DEFINED AS BEING ILLEGAL BY THE LAW AND SO CANNOT BE ILLEGALIZED BY A SMOKING BAN ON TOBACCO, in the Netherlands. as long as cannabis remains illegal it will be possible to smoke it inside a coffeeshop according to dutch law in 2008.

    The whole world has been portrayed and re-represented in a new dream language, wake up. It seems to me that language is our closest and most powerful ally in the war on some people who use some drugs. The only political, poetic and consciousness research based GAME in town these days, where fair, scientific, logical and responsible and balanced methods seems to fail and pale at the EXPERIENCE itself, and so medieval dogma and religious superstition move forward, trying to take over, monopolize and police language, meaning and THOUGHT> This appears to me as the cutting edge, a place for me to take a stand against the Tsarist/Nazi Occupied Governments around the world and their illegal “Drug Fnord” wars, and disinformation campaigns against the citizens of planet earth so as to continue with THEIR business selling germs and steel to Gangsters. Crime against GOD. Crime against Nature! Have some decency common man!

    Until the global police, who reinforce the single-sighted, irrational and meaningless “War on drugs” bust into Monsanto, GalaxoSmithKiline and the other worldwide “Phamacological Dope Dealing Syndicates” and/or violently shutting down every supermarket and “Drug” store, only then can we have a sensible meaning to any “War on Drtugs” and also only then can we equal intelligent conversation and rational discussion about “The War on Some People who use Some drugs.” Communication is only possible between equals.     Before The United Nation’s and/or any other political authority wishes to fight a war on something i suggest that their experts and strategic agents first define what DRUG means, to them. Their “The War on drugs” appears to me as an example of the very very bad language used and perpetuated by Officials, Agents, Police, Politicians and then fanned and propagated outwards by convenient News Media. What they are trying hard to avoid is defining this smart business strategy as the “War on some people who use Some drugs.” Accentuating the HUMAN doer and the ACTION user in the sentence.

    A better way to fight the 51st “War on drugs” maybe to replace Police with Poets, or people with a better understanding of neuro-semantics. Linguists and Novelists, magicians, independent journalists, warrior-poets etc.

    When you can internalize and realize that the war on drugs is more precisely the “War on some people who use some drugs”. Questions start to arise from the increased semantical data provided by the additional words: “some people” and “use some drugs”. Who and what might be the next question. These questions are a key to breaking through the veil of disinformation surrounding the fake and fantastically expensive “War on drugs” and also the more recent Tobacco laws.

    Drug still means what Hippocrates and Galen understood it to mean: a substance that instead of being overcome by the body and assimilated in nutrition is instead capable of “Overcoming” it.

    A war on the above statement shows the neglect and abuse of language and sensibility towards possibly the greatest revolutionary force known to mankind: the human brain-body nervous system, an interaction between an array of other forces–neural semantic forces–and your interacting nervous forces and a third interacting “Interaction” force of the two. Mixed in space/time to produce the moment. A moment. Moments of YOGA you might say. The Coming together of two things, and all this experience being dependent upon all the varying conditions and sensory data available. When, where, how and why you made your reading. That some drugs involved in this interactive biological process, evolving over hundreds of thousands of years by interacting with other biological neural networks. To suggest humans are somehow involved in a “War” with this seems to me like saying you have Billions of villains running through your body-brain interface. Insurgent chemical criminals.

  • Stourbridge 2.0 (A letter to the Stourbridge News)

    I was very sad reading my local rag last week. So sad that i started to write a letter to the paper and the people of Stourbridge, a letter to reach out and communicate. Peace comes of Communication said Ezra Pound.

    Dear Stourbridge and The Stourbridge News.

    In these shattered times, i often turn to the Stourbridge News for information and knowledge about Stourbridge and its surrounding area, to get the swing of whats going on locally. It often makes me smile and sometimes sigh. Last week your printed pages made me literally cry.
    I might have cry’d because i was feeling sensitive or maybe i cry’d because of the powerful combination of articles and letters published with such a compelling political aura? Politics or a kind of political commentary always appears in your paper, its literally full of it, but last week it was jam packed full with such powerful politics. I just welled up, “Jesus” i thought, i need to communicate more. So this is how i propose to help. With a new idea. Stourbridge 2.0

    The Stourbridge News LTD. now has a web site that publishes selected stories and letters (And hopefully this letter), and for the first time in History has the wonderful added bonus of a feedingback function. (although very primitive as web feedback technology goes) None the less, its much like the printed letters section of the actual paper paper itself but on an “open” public computer network. This network is still under moderation by your editing board, so i assume your capable of keeping a scholarly, balanced and democratic environment. Equal to any News Services goal of objectivity, fairness and equality when representing information to the public.

    I was upset and frustrated partly because of the tragically wasted opportunity for a real community service, a real democratic interactive political environment; an interactive democratic Stourbridge based forum to discuss the most important issues facing us today. Maybe featuring various models of politics (from the Greens, BNP, Liberal Dem’s, Labor, Conservatives, Independents etc), Various economic models, various models of community activities in progress, all in various models of communication: (Multimedia – Video, Audio, Text), various models of Government, various models of anything you fancy? Anything the PEOPLE fancy or wish to discuss that they feel strongly enough about. To quote a popular phrase “We have the Technology”. But do we have the collective will power?

    A closed circuit attitude towards the electronic integration of “Stourbridge” into the World Wide Web of Globalization and Global Communication can only stifle our culture. If Dudley is introducing electronic voting systems for example, then where’s the electronic public feedback forum? You can’t have one without the other brother. Just 23 Megabytes of feedback space for each voter, at a conservative guess, would suffice. Imagine an electronic democratic forum for voters to have THEIR say about WHAT they are voting for, and to provide THEIR alternatives? You better imagine faster because the whole world is waiting, a whole “Other” world. Who knows, more people might come to visit Stourbridge who never heard of it, so helping the businesses which seem to be in need of more custom.

    I ask of Stourbridge or the gentle readers of the Stourbridge News – why have they (The Council, Newspapers, Political Parties, Major Corporations) NOT joined together on the internet yet? with a PUBLIC FEEDBACK Forum for us, your subjects, your workers? and not just e-mail and private use of the Global internet communications available in 2007, why, not as yet have they created an interactive community forum, integrating both the local community, businesses, education centers and POLITICAL think tanks, and, the non-local “World Wide Web” all together? Why not a Public open feedback forum?

    Not forgetting the Stourbridge News itself. In fact the Stourbridge News would have to be the hub, the nest if you like from which this inevitable communications revolution will remerge as if by magic to those people with insufficient technological awareness of Globalization, Internet 2.0 and the long lost and ancient bones of what a political democracy IS: An Open society with multiple models, open debate, free criticism, free speech and freedom of the press, right to assembly etc. Healthy fast FEEDBACK!

    What i propose then, considering my own shock and terror after reading your articles last week that resulted in much emotional drama is a “Public forum” based around Stourbridge News .COM, but maybe opening up the editorial to different public groups like the local Churches and Learning Institutions for example, why not LINK us all up together or at least allow for those who would like to Link LINK, at least temporarily, at least.

    I figure if enough people vote that this is a good idea and vote for it to be implemented, then its pretty easy to add such a “forum” section to your website, which incidentally already has NETWORK Links to all of the major Council, Media, Political Parties, Major Corporations active in and around Stourbridge. Who knows if we pray the .Gov might have some funding for you to set this all up? IMHO this “Forum” is exactly what they should provide THE PEOPLE with. When we have such political emergencies to deal with, and we have many political emergencies to deal with.

    A slogan i like that outlines good internet etiquette is that if your can’t achieve tolerance at least attempt a little courtesy. I often wish political councillors could understand this phrase, in the non-internet world.
